Flooding Update – Cheboygan & Emmet Counties
Rising water levels continue to cause flooding across Cheboygan and Emmet Counties. Several roads, bridges, and river access points remain closed due to high water and unsafe conditions. Crews are monitoring the Cheboygan River system and nearby dams as water levels slowly recede but remain elevated.
Residents are asked to avoid flooded areas, obey all posted closures, and use caution near rivers, bridges, and low‑lying roads. Conditions may change quickly, and additional updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
River & Recreation Impacts
Due to high water, fast currents, and debris hazards, residents should expect:
- Temporary closures of river access sites
- Restrictions on boating or paddling in affected waterways
- Limited access near dams and spillways as crews continue emergency water‑flow management
These conditions may change quickly as water levels fluctuate.
